Ham Pizza Recipe

ham pizza recipe
Recipes for babies finger foods please, not too fiddly to make, but tasty!?

Something suitable for a 10 month old please - that's how old he'll be when we go on a 12 hour flight. I thought that some tasty non-refrigerated finger foods and a jar or two of some sort of baby food would be good for his meals.

When I had my first, I got a leaflet of recipes from the health visitor, one recipe was a sort of scone crossed with a pizza and a chelsea bun, it was a swirled thing with tomato paste and ham in it. Another of his favourites was a cheese loaf. There were also date triangles. But I lost the leaflet ages ago, so I'll be really grateful for any nice recipes you can suggest!

No recommendations for shop bought products please, I live in Japan and they sell different stuff to the things they sell wherever you are.

Lightly toasted bread or bagels

Scrambled egg yolks (do not include the whites before one year of age)

Bite size pieces of cheese

Pea size pieces of cooked chicken

Pieces of pitta bread, naan or chappati

Tiny sandwiches, filled with soft cheese or mashed banana

Fingers of cheese on toast

Cooked pasta, sprinkled with Parmesan cheese

Overcooked brown rice - it's sticky and will "clump" together

Recipe:

Cheesy Vegetable Nuggets

8oz frozen broccoli florets
4oz breadcrumbs
6oz Cheddar, grated
2 1/2 tbsp water
2 1/2 tbsp olive oil
1 1/2 tsp baking powder

Heat the oven to 375 deg F, 190 deg C.
Cook the broccoli, then drain and chop well.
Combine with the remaining ingredients and mix well.
Form the mixture into nugget shapes and place on a greased baking tray, about 3in apart. Pop in the Oven. Just try not to eat them all yourself hehe!

Macaroni And Cheese Baked Bread Crumbs

Macaroni Recipes

macaroni recipes.

Home-made macaroni.
------------------

To four cupfuls of flour, add one egg well beaten, and enough water to make a dough that can be rolled. Roll thin on a breadboard and cut into strips. Dry in the sun. The best arrangement for this purpose is a wooden frame to which a square of cheese-cloth has been tightly tacked, upon which the macaroni may be laid in such a way as not to touch, and afterwards covered with a cheese-cloth to keep off the dust during the drying.

Boiled macaroni.
---------------

Put a larg cup of macaroni into boiling water and cook until tender. When done, drained thoroughly, then add a pint of milk, part cream if it can be afforded, a little salt and one well-beaten egg; stir over the fire until it thickens, and serve hot.

Macaroni with cream sauce.
-------------------------

Cook the macaroni as directed in the proceeding, and serve with a cream sauce prepared by heating a scant pint of rich milk to boiling, in a double boiler. When boiling, add a heaping tablespoonful of flour, rubbed smoothed in a little milk and one fourth teaspoonful of salt. If desired, the sauce may be flavored by steeping in the milk before thickening for ten or fifteen minutes, a slice of onion or a few bits of celery, and then removing with a fork.

Macaroni with tomato sauce.
--------------------------

Drop a cup of macaroni into boiling milk and water, equal parts. Let it boil for an hour, or until perfectly tender. In the meantime prepare the sauce by rubbing a pint of stewed or canned tomatoes through a colander to remove all seeds and fragments. Heat to boiling, thicken with a little flour; a tablespoonful to the pint will be about the requisite proportion. Add salt and if desired, a half cup of very thin sweet cream. Dish the macaroni into individual dishes, and serve with a small quantity of the sauce poured over each dish.

Macaroni baked with granola.
---------------------------

Cook a large cup of macaroni until tender in boiling milk and water. When done, drain and put a layer of the macaroni in the bottom of a pudding dish, and sprinkle over it a scant teaspoonful of granola. Add a second and third layer and sprinkle each with granola; then turn over the whole a custard sauce prepared by mixing together a pint of milk, the well beaten yolks of two eggs or one whole egg, and one-fourth of a teaspoonful of salt. Care should be taken to arrange the macaroni in layers loosely, so that the sauce will readily permeate the whole. Bake for a few minutes only, until the custard has well set, and serve.

Eggs and macaroni.
-----------------

Cook a cup of macaroni in boiling water. While the macaroni is cooking, boil the yolks of four eggs until mealy. The whole egg may be used if caught so the yolks are mealy in the whites simply jellied, not hardened. When the macaroni is done, drain and put a layer of it arranged loosely in the bottom of a pudding dish. Slice the cooked egg yolks and spread a layer of them over the macaroni. Fill the dish with alternate layers of macaroni and egg, taking care to have the top layer of macaroni. Pour over the whole a cream sauce prepared as follows: Heat one and three fourths cup of rich milk to boiling, add one fourth teaspoonful of salt and one heaping spoonful of flour rubbed smooth in a little cold milk. Cook until thickened, then turn over the macaroni. Sprinkle the top with grated bread crumbs, and brown in a hot oven for eight or ten minutes. Serve hot.

Baked Macaroni And Cheese Recipes With Bread Crumbs

does this recipe sound good ( repost with bonus question)?

I am thinking of making this tomato and macaroni casserole for my husband for lunch....

boil 1 cup of elbow macaroni as normal ( until al dente)
drain a can of tomatoes ( leave a little juice) and toss lightly in salt pepper and just a touch of sugar)

grease a casserole dish and layer ...

macaroni
salt
pepper
grated cheese
tomatoes
macaroni
etc... until the dish is full make sure tomatoes is the top layer and add breadcrumb topping ( bread crumbs stirred into melted butter)

bake at 350 degrees covered 20 mins and uncovered for 10 mins

BQ do you think I could make this now ( 9am) and put it in the fridge covered until 11:30 and then take it out let it get it to room temp as the oven preheats and bake from there
oh of course I will add spices and stuff dont wanna list everything gotta have some secrets :) and great idea about adding the cheese thanks

You can certainly make the casserole ahead of time and refrigerate, but done add the cheese topping.

You may want to saute some minced onion and garlic and dried herbs to add to the tomatoes. Mixing some bread crumbs with the cheese is also a great topping, In a 350 degree preheated oven, heat your macaroni casserole, covered, for 20-30 minutes until hot. Remove the cover, top with the bread crumb cheese mixture and continue baking for about 10 minutes or put under broiler for a minute two. Make sure you use a casserole that can go under the broiler.

Cheese Bread

cheese bread
Italian Bread , dipped in cheese and oil?

I used to go to this really authentic italian restaurant nearby that recently shut down, they had bread sticks that you could dip in their grated cheese covered in some kind of oil, does anyone know what kind of bread, cheese and oil is traditional in italy?

French loaf or Italian are equally good... if french I always toast it..

Pour extra virgin olive oil on a plate.... then sprinkle SHREDDED, not grated, parmesan cheese into the center... then you can add some herbs or other seasoning if you like... I usually use cracked pepper, pinch of dried oregano and pinch of dried basil, tiny pinch of salt..or you can use italian seasoning premix blend. It's good without the herbs but I like it better with.

you'll notice the shredded parmesan actually "melts" into the oil.

highly unhealthy, but very yummy...

Ham And Pineapple Pizza Recipe

Right...how do I make a really good pizza base?

I have loads of delicious bits and pieces to put on a pizza...chicken chunks, sweetcorn, shrooms, ham, pineapple, tuna...stacks of stuff.

How do I make a really nice base from a standing start?

And what about the tomatoey stuff?

I can handle the cheesy bit...got loads of it.

Easy peasy recipe please!

1 tablespoon (14g) dried yeast
0.5 teaspoon sugar
0.5 cup warm water
1.5 cups plain flour
2 tablespoons olive oil

Combine yeast and sugar in a small bowl, stir in water, stand in a warm place for about 10 minutes or until frothy.

Sift flour into medium bowl, stir in yeast mixture and oil. Mix to a firm dough. Turn dough onto lightly floured surface, knead about 10 minutes or until dough is smooth and elastic.

Place dough in oiled bowl, cover, stand in a warm place for about 30 minutes or until doubled in size. Turn onto floured surface, knead until smooth.

as for the tomato base:
Take 6-8 ripe tomatoes and blanch them in boiling water for a minute or so. Remove the tops and the skin. chop them into small pieces. Place the pieces in a strainer and let most of the water drain from them. Place them in a bowl and salt and pepper them to taste. At this point a tablespoon of Extra Virgin Olive oil, a teaspoon of dried oregano flakes and 2-3 finely chopped garlic cloves can be added. Exactly how much garlic, if any at all, will depend upon the toppings you are planning to use. If the toppings are to be subtle, leave the garlic out.

Cheese Bread Recipe

cheese bread recipe
What's the italian recipe that has ricotta cheese, pieces of bread, mixed berries among other things?

I saw it on a cooking show the other day. It has ricotta cheese, pieces of bread, mixed berries, honey, and butter and is all cooked mixed together, but I can't remember the name or the measurements of the ingredients.
No, it didn't have any cake in it. The main ingredients are those I already put up.

I serve this with pound cake.

2 cups whole-milk ricotta cheese
4 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
4 tablespoons sugar
3 tablespoons honey
3/4 teaspoon vanilla extract

Whip all this together very well. You might want to put the ricotta through the blender first to smooth it our completely. Personally, I like the texture.

4 cups mixed fresh or frozen berries (such as blackberries, raspberries, and halved strawberries)
2 teaspoons fresh lemon juice
2 Tbs sugar (more to taste)

Combine and toss lightly.

Put a scoop of the cheese mixture in a glass (a wine glass or champagne flute works nicely) and top with berries.

Sounds like a version of this but couldn't find a recipe for that.

hope this helps. good luck and enjoy.

How to Make Cheese Panini Recipes

One of the most wonderful things about panini is how versatile they can be. Far from being a sandwich that can only be created several ways, just about any sort of ingredient can be used in. This is most evident when selecting cheese panini recipes – so many sorts of cheese can be used in them.

As a matter of fact, panini is so versatile that practically any sort of cheese can be used in one! That said, however, some kinds make a better match than others. For the benefit of those who need to know, here are some of the more popular cheeses for use in these terrific sandwiches.

First up is provolone. This is a smooth-skinned, semi-hard cheese that is made with whole cow’s milk. It’s produced mainly in the Po River area of Italy. The flavor of provolone can vary greatly; you can choose between piquant or sharp-flavored varieties to sweet-flavored, much milder sorts, and there are many kinds that fall in between those two extremes.

Next is Swiss cheese, which can refer to either Emmental or Emmentaler cheese (a yellow cheese which is medium-hard and which comes with those characteristic large holes), or several kinds of cheese that are all very similar to Emmental cheese. Emmental cheese can be mild to piquant in flavor, albeit not all that sharp, whereas the Swiss cheeses are bittersweet and nutty. An interesting rule of thumb is that the larger the holes are, in general, the more pronounced the flavor of the cheese.

Up next we have Havarti cheese. This is a smooth, yellow- or cream-colored cheese that, unlike Emmental or Swiss cheese, has very small holes. Its flavor is buttery and the sweetness can vary from brand to brand, or with age as well. It can be slightly acidic, too. Interestingly, if you leave it out in a room-temperature area, it can soften rather fast, so take note of this if you’d like to use it in your panini.

And then there’s Asiago cheese, which can be a good substitute for the somewhat better-known romano and parmesan cheeses. Fresh Asiago cheese is on the whole smooth, but as it ages it becomes more apt to crumble; aged Asiago cheese can taste very similar to Parmesan, and you might be surprised to find some crunchy bits in it thanks to the buildup of a certain amino acid called tyrosine (nothing wrong with this crunch though).

Those are some of the most popular varieties of cheese that you can use in your cheese panini recipes. I’ll leave you with a rule of thumb regarding selecting cheese – use those sorts of cheeses that melt well and which can serve as a ‘glue’ to hold the rest of the sandwich together. Enjoy!
