how can i cook pizza with out an oven?

Since i dont have an oven at home,i want to knw how to make home made pizza on the gas stove???

you need the oven to melt the cheese and cook the veggies. even the veggies can be fried with oil and then added on top of the sauce. (i make my sauce with tomatoes, garlic, oregano powder. ) to melt the cheese, i once tried placing the pizza base on the dosa tava, on low flame and covering up the pizza on top. (like when making omelets) Tho' the cheese melted and tasted good, the base of the pizza dough was burnt. maybe if you can keep the dough on top of something and then try it, maybe you will get it better than i did!

Good Luck :)

Basic Baking Tips - Pointers For Making That Perfect Loaf Of Bread

For people who are just new to baking will find that it is indeed a very complicated process. So, here a few guidelines and tips that can be very useful when it comes to baking for beginners.

Before you begin follow these steps. These will help you to avert any disaster that may occur while baking. Before you start make sure that you go through the recipe thoroughly. This makes sure that you have all the required ingredients at hand before you start. It is important that you use only fresh supplies. The next important step is to have the oven preheated to the required temperature for perfect baking. Liquids which are used in the recipe need to be measured accurately by placing them at eye level. Dry ingredients need to be measured by using a flat knife to level them. It is important that you bake with extreme care as it can cause the recipe to be ruined when done in a hurry.

There are different kinds of flour which are not entirely the same. When making yeast breads it is important to use wheat flour. For yeast loaves use bread flour and the same when used in yeast bread will make it a heavy cake instead. Cake flour on the other hand is very fine. You can use all purpose flour for any type of baking. Bleached and unbleached flours can also be used. Flour can be stored in an airtight container away from moisture and direct sunlight for up to six months.

You cannot interchange baking powder with baking soda. The ingredients of baking powder include baking soda and an acid that causes the flour to leaven and rise when mixed with wet ingredients and baked. Baking soda on the other hand constitutes sodium bicarbonate. When mixed with an acidic ingredient like yogurt, molasses or buttermilk causes the flour to rise making it light and spongy.

Here are some tips while handling chocolate while cooking. First you must be aware that there are various types of chocolate that can be used for cooking. Unsweetened chocolate is chocolate liquor which contains fifty percent coca butter without any sugar. Depending upon the various amounts of sugar which is added to the coca butter, you will get the various varieties like bittersweet, semi sweet, and dark chocolate. Milk chocolate on the other hand is made up of dried milk powder, cocoa butter and sugar while white chocolate is made from cocoa butter instead of chocolate liquor. To make unsweetened cocoa you will need to use chocolate liquor in which 75 percent cocoa butter has been removed and then dried and made into a paste. It is easy to burn the chocolate while melting so it has to be done over a small flame. The various methods which can be used for melting chocolate are the double boiler method, direct heat method or simply use the microwave oven

Pizza Gas Oven

[simpleaffiliate source="chitika" results="0"][/simpleaffiliate]

How to keep a gas oven at 475 for 20 minutes?

My Pizza recipe says that I should cook it for 20 minutes at 475. Now I preheat my gas oven to 475 then how to keep 475 for 20 minutes?
I mean to say when oven reches to 475, then if I keep it on it will be more hotter while cooking pizza if I turn off then will the temprature go down?

It maintains the temp. Just don't open the door a lot, that'll let the hot air out and lower the temp. The oven doesn't go off just because it hit 475.

What Is A Solar Oven?

Cooking with a solar oven is probably the greenest method of preparing your food. It is also one of the most easily accessible forms of solar power.

A solar oven is a device that harnesses sunlight to create heat energy. It doesn't use any fuel, and it doesn't cost a thing to operate it. It can help slow down the deforestation and desertification caused by harvesting natural resources which are used in conventional fuel production.

In theory, no more trees would be cut to be used for making charcoal, if everyone switched to using solar ovens. And, while the use of a solar oven is not always feasible, a better understanding of their use can open up many doors and new possibilities.

There are many solar oven designs, but each of them uses the same basic principles. They concentrate sunlight, using mirrors or other types of reflective metal, into their designated cooking areas. The more concentrated the light, the more potent the concentration will be.

Some solar ovens convert the light they gather into heat. You might notice that ovens and pans generally have something black inside. This is based on the fact that the color black absorbs more light than any other color, and turns it into heat. The more efficient the pan or oven is, the faster the cooking time will be.

Some solar ovens work by trapping heat inside them. They isolate the air within the cooking area, separating it out from the cooler outside air. This can be done with the use of a clear solid, such as a glass cover or even a plastic bag. This barrier allows light to enter, but once the light has turned into heat, the barrier traps the heat inside the cooker.

This type of solar oven makes it possible to reach stable cooking temperatures, even during windy days outdoors. The most efficient solar ovens utilize the three principles mentioned above, in order to effectively achieve the proper temperatures for cooking with good results and in the shortest time possible.

This is especially true when the cooker will be used in a place that which has undesirable conditions. Solar ovens are one of the most easily-accessible devices which use alternative energy. A solar oven can even be built out of everyday materials. There are also cheap versions available on the market.

What's best about them is that they can be used to prepare just about anything which can be made with a standard oven or stove. You can bake bread, steam vegetables, and even roast meat in them.

Furthermore, solar ovens are usually placed outside the home; therefore they don't take up any space in your kitchen. There are also some disadvantages to using solar ovens. They generally can't be used on cloudy and rainy days. They are most efficient during the hottest times of the day, such as in the late afternoon, after most people have already finished eating. But in this case, the oven can at least be used to keep food warm until evening.

Baking Bread With Spelt Flour

baking bread with spelt flour
can you replace regular flour with spelt flour in any recipe?

I heard spelt flour is really healthy, but what can you use it in place of? Can I replace it in any baking recipe or just bread? etc.

Replace a portion of the wheat flour in bread recipes with an equal amount of spelt flour. Because it is low in gluten, spelt does not rise as well as wheat flour. A single cup of spelt flour will give your bread loaves a nutty flavor.

Substitute spelt flour for wheat flour in pasta recipes. Since pasta dough does not rise well, spelt flour works perfectly in everything from spaghetti to dumplings.

It's mainly used in bread making. Not so good for cakes, it doesn't rise well. Hints on using it on the link.
