Pizza Oven Outside

How serious can smoke damage from a burnt pizza be?

Someone burned one of those big pizza's in the oven at my condo... It burned in there for over 3 hours at 425degree's and filled the entire house with smoke from floor to ceiling. Now it looks like the walls and ceilings are stained in every room and I cannot get rid of the awful smell- it's making me ill. I've already aired out the whole entire house for hours, but I can't leave the windows open forever because it's freezing outside... Is this something we can fix ourselves or do we need a professional?
I should add that this happened yesterday... the smoke smell must be stuck to everything because there was more than enough time to air the smoke itself out of the house.

You have a real problem. I am sure that the smoke has penetrated everywhere. Your upholstered furniture needs to be cleaned, carpets shampooed, and all cloth washed. Painted surfaces need to be washed and possibly repainted. Smoke damage is very difficult to deal with and there are contractors who specialize in this area.

I hope you have homeowners' insurance. It is time to file a claim and turn this job over to the professionals.

Good luck with your problem.

How To Build Pizza Oven

Oven cleaning - turned on fire alarm. Help!?

I was baking pizza earlier today and while trying to take it out it flipped upside down inside the oven
So once the oven was cool I tried cleaning it with clorox wipes.

5 hours later, I wanted to bake something else... I turn on the oven to heat it.
It smelled like something was burning, so I opened the oven and smoke came out setting off the fire alarm in my building

It's really late, and I don't want to be annoying my neighbors.
What was the problem...
Was it the barely there pizza remainders... or the clorox reaction to heat?

Also, how can I clean it to ensure it doesn't happen next time I turn it on?

Hi there,
I don't think that the smoke came from the wipes. Most chances are that the smoke came from the pizza remainig.

Therefore, take an old cloth and soak it with strong oven cleaner. Place it on the pizza remaining for 30 minutes and take it off.

Then try to take off the pizza left-over with a scraper and/or scotch.
Then, wipe off all the oven interior using dump cloth.

It should do the trick...
Done
