Is it possible for the do it yourself person to drill holes in a Baking Stone? If yes, HOW? Thanks.?
Baking Stone of the type made of clay and used in ovens, for pizzas, pastries and the like.
You can use a standard electric drill ideally one with variable speed. If you only need to drill a small hole I would recommend you buy some tile drills - for drilling bathroom tiles rather than use ordinary masonary drills. These are pointed and sharper than carbide bits. However, if the hole you wish to drill is large in diameter and the stone you are drilling is very thick the best thing would be a diamond coated drill. Go to the www.screwfix.com site and look at the drills they sell every type.
