Food advice?
So I would like to have an evening wedding. I'm having trouble with food, though. I'm half Korean and my mom could make fabulous Korean food, except I figure a lot of our guests are going to turn their noses up at it. I really don't want to pay the big bucks for a caterer. I thought about having artisan bread, cheeses, jams/jellies and baskets of fruit. Maybe just a dessert buffet along with our cupcake cake. What else can I get for a relatively low cost (50-100 guests) that won't allow my guests to starve and be happy without a big dinner?
First, if you are not serving a full meal you need to make sure that you schedule your reception for a time that is not a peak mealtime. (1-4) or (7-midnight)
I think you could very easily do Korean food. Food culture has really expanded in recent days and Its an expression of you. Just make sure it is something pretty tame by Western standards like a veggie Kimchi with a fried rice and some BBQ beef and lime/ginger fish. I would add some vegetarian sushi as a appitizer for those that don't eat meats.
Low cost is subjective so give a number that you want us to stick to.
