Why won't my pizza cook?
i just bought a small portable oven and i tried to cook pizza for the first time. i preheated the oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit and then i put in a pizza using wheat dough (store bought) and pizza sauce, cheese, mushrooms, and ham for the toppings. after cooking it for a good 20 minutes, i cut a slice and tried it. the toppings were cooked and tasted fine BUT the dough was chewy......what the hell am i doing wrong?
Prebake the dough just long enough that it's sort of set, but not browned. Between 5 and 10 minutes. It takes the crust longer to cook than the toppings, and it helps keep it from getting soggy.
