can i bake craft clay on a outdoor gas grill?
i just made a really cool cave from oven craft clay! instead of putting it in my home oven and making the house stink!! can i bake the sculpture outside in my gas grill?? if yes how should i do it? lol its that craft clay that gets rock hard when its baked.
Sure, but you need to shield it from ANY DIRECT FLAME. So you would need to put it inside a metal bake pan like a dutch oven with a lid. If you cannot totally shield the clay than don't bother.
If you bake a lot of this type of clay you would be better off getting a high quality toaster oven with a bake and/or convection setting. The higher the wattage the faster your clay will bake. Then you could just set it outside and bake away. Will take a lot longer than a 200volt reg oven but you won't have any smell.
