Halogen Oven Cooking Appliance - Early History Of Oven

The remains of oldest ovens have been found in Central Europe. These were basically the roasting pits and boiling sites created inside the caves. Dated in 29,000 BC these were larger in size then ones being made today. These bulky constructions were quite helpful for the cavemen in cooking the food. These were mostly wood burning ovens but the proper coal burning ovens were created in the area now part of the modern day Ukraine.  The time period of these early ovens is around 20,000 BC.

The process of making food in oven was started with the wood initially but soon the coal based oven took over. The prime examples of such ovens and stoves were used in the Mediterranean. Rather then having any modern utensils the food used to be wrapped in leaves mostly in those days. Similarly some of the food used to be cooked by covering that with sand or earth also. Interestingly these primitive ovens were not without some of the more modern instruments like air blowers and hearth.

The Indus Valley civilization had their own set of ovens made for the more wealthy citizens. These were smaller in size then their European counterparts, but the use of the bricks in the building and oven making was started in Egypt in 3200 BC. The Chinese dynasties were also using the ovens for cooking the food and boiling water, and it is reported that most houses in that time were equip with hardened mud ovens as well.

Egypt was the first civilization to use the ovens to create the hard bricks. These bricks were not only used in temples or tombs like pyramids but in the palaces and home decoration as well. This was the first time the ovens were used for anything beside food. The next step in the oven history was the creation of the pots and pans with help of the oven. As a result the early example of the black topper wear ceramics was found in the pyramids in 5000 BC.

Ancient Greek ovens were a step ahead as in here the first portable ovens were started. In this time there is extensive written history of using the ovens for culinary art and even in military uses as well. The use of the trays and baking dishes was started in here along side the spit roasting system too. This Halogen Oven is the time when the modern bread was also invented with use of yeast as well. The ceramic oven was started in 3000 BC and this is the base for creation of microwave oven today.
