Baking Bread Machine

baking bread machine
Too much acid (cranberry juice) can kill yeast when baking bread?

I followed a bread machine recipe that called for cranberry juice. The juice I have at home is 100% pure with no sugar added, so I had to add some sugar. However, the juice was still *very* tangy. The bread ended up being a total disaster and did not rise AT ALL. I know the yeast itself is fine because I used it last week. Could it be the acid in the juice that killed it??

That is very possible. Did you alter the recipe even a little bit? Did you bake it long enough or on the right setting? Could it be possible that you forgot to add an ingredient? You probably did everything you needed to do, so it could've been the juice.
