Cast Iron Plate or Griddle?
I am looking to buy either a round, square or oblong flat cast iron sheet or plate to fit in a domestic oven to place under a grill in order to cook pizza. I don't want a lip around the edge as I want to slide the uncooked and cooked pizza on and off with a pizza peel without removing the hot plate from the oven each time.
Ideally, 38cm round or square would fit nicely.
Short of taking an angle grinder to a shop bought cast iron dish, I don't know what else to do.
I would even pay to have something cast as a one off if it is not too expensive. Any suggestions please.
Cast iron is going to be problematic over the long run......
Have you thought of a pizza stone?? They work wonderfully, you can get them very inexpensively, check out this site:

You heat the stone in the oven, and it conducts the heat beautifully.....
I use one, and keep it in the oven all the time, as I have found that it keeps a more even temperature and MUCH easier to clean than having to clean cast iron, which has to be reseasoned.....Hope this helps!!!
