I'll go crazy if I have to eat one more hot dog, chicken nugget, fish stick, or cardboard pizza! Can you help?
My kids' tastes have backed me into this corner, and I'm determined to fight back. But what can you do when they turn up their noses and simply refuse to eat anything new? I've gone down the path of least resistance until now, but no more. Do you have any ideas for dinner that go over well with children? I prefer if they are somewhat simple to make, have big kid appeal, and nutritious is an obvious plus. Please include recipe unless it's self-explanatory.
Thanks!
I love the IDIOTS who say "let them go hungry." Spoken like a bunch of ignorant fools who DON'T have children! Guess what? That's EXACTLY what they do! They skip dinner and wait for breakfast the next day. Yeah, THAT'S a healthy alternative.
If you DON'T have an answer to a question, just don't bother answering. Your ignorance has no place among helpful, honest answers.
Fruit with a small side of whipped cream.
Green veggies with shredded cheese. (cheese makes everything better- trust me).
Baked Chicken- cut it in strips and give them dipping sauces.
Shrimp with shrimp sauce.
Basically anything you need to dip.
Let them make their own taco salads.
Try giving them poppy seed dressing on salads instead of ranch. It's sweet and taste like a dessert. also, instead of croutons let them crunch a few tortilla chips on top of their salad. My kids love that.
Cut up veggies and have a fresh veggie tray in the fridge at all times with various dips. Put it on the table with dinner each night.
Fettuccine Alfredo has always been a hit- something diff than spaghetti constantly.
Quesedillas. Just make the beef (or soy for vegetarians) , add taco sauce.. then put it on the soft tortilla shell, add shredded cheese and some small bits of onion and peppers and wrap it up and bake till its crunchy. Give them dipping choices.
My kids love chicken casserole. (Egg noodles, chicken chunks, can of cream of celery and one of mushroom, bit of milk, shredded cheese and a bag of cooked mixed veggies).
Loaded Baked potatoes. Let them add what they want (broccoli, cheese, sour cream, mixed veggies, dried fruit..)
Make snack trays for lunch. (cubed cheese with mini pepperoni, apples with pb, veggies with dip, mini turkey sandwiches etc).
