Baking Bread Microwave Oven

baking bread microwave oven
How can I bake bread in my Microwave Oven... Will it be fluffy? Pls gimme the recipe...?

People have tried to bake yeast breads in the microwave oven, but no one raves about what they end up with. :)

First, due to the way a microwave cooks, you need to know that it will not develop a hard crust, or much of a crust at all. To develop a crust, there needs to be higher heat applied to the outside of the dough to develop the crust - but not that high on the inside so the yeast has time to work and make the bread rise before the batter is 'set.'

The inside will not be as fluffy as normal bread. Spongy and chewy is the best you can hope for. You can't cook it too fast or the dough will set up and prevent the yeast from working to make the dough rise.

Here is a site where people have discussed it and even made some pictures of what they ended up with: http://www.thefreshloaf.com/node/4469/microwave-bread

Here is one such recipe: http://www.astray.com/recipes/?show=Microwave%20bread

And here is a recipe for a batter type bread made in the microwave that does not use yeast: http://www.astray.com/recipes/?show=Microwave%20beer%20bread

If you are handy in the kitchen and don't mind tossing it out if it doesn't work well - it is worth a try.

We tried to make rolls in there once, and failed!
