Baking White Bread

How To Make Bread MORE Dense?

I'm new to bread baking and have been using the Amish White Bread recipe (link below) without modifications. My problem is the bread turns out so fluffy that it pretty much crumbles when I try to cut it or eat it. I'd love to use the bread as sandwich bread but it's just not dense enough.

How do I make bread more dense?

bread dough need a nice long kneading time, 10 minutes or so to develope gluten. The dough will feel kind of stringy. That is what you want.
Do not let it raise more than double its size.
If you have the time, let it raise 3 times total, twice in the bowl and then after you pan it, allow it to raise one more time. The more often you let it raise, the finer the grain of the bread.
