
Something to add that fermented flair to pizza dough?
I saw a recipe for pizza dough that used flat beer instead of water, and it got rave reviews (http://allrecipes.com/Recipe/Bread-Machine-Pizza-Dough/Detail.aspx). I never buy or have beer in the house so I was wondering if there was anything else I could use. One reviewer used club soda but although that has gas bubbles in it, it's not exactly fermented. An alternative is using water but letting the dough ferment in the fridge for a day or two, but I'd like something for a quick dough as well.
Any suggestions?
If I bought beer my husband would just drink it. But the reason I don't buy it is because of alcoholism in the family, and potentially in my husband. My long-time alcoholic uncle just died last month. It's just been a personal choice to keep my house a dry house, which is why I'm looking for an alternative to beer.
