From scratch?
KEEP IT SIMPLE / KEEPS IT BETTER
This is not rocket science
Easy and good
5 tablespoons of vegetable or olive oil (in this case either one will be just fine)
heat up sauce-pan, add 3 large cloves of garlic that has been crushed with the side of a chef's knife, and pre-salted.
Soften the garlic, do not allow to burn, add some torn fresh basil leaves, about 3 large ones and 5 eight ounce cans of tomato sauce, Hunts, Contadina, DelMonte the store brand, any kind..
Let simmer for 30 minutes. if too thick add up-to 1/2 of one of those tomato sauce cans of water, if too thin continue cooking off some liquid.
optional: dried oregano and or Italian seasoning, about 1 1/2 teaspoon-2 teaspoons, depending how much you like
My great uncle had the first pizza shop in New Jersey and it is still owned by my relatives, this is the way they make it.
