Why is my house so cold in winter and so hot in the summer?
I live in a brick Victorian house that 113 years old with an asphalt shingled roof. It is only comfortable about 4 days a year when the outdoor temperature is between 65 and 70F. In winter, it's like living in a refrigerator (especially on windy days) and in summer it's like a pizza oven. I thought bricks were good insulation.
the problem with most 113 year old houses is lack of insulation and poor quality windows both of which are very expensive fixes
